On February 24, 2016, the fifth draft of our script was completed. This version of the script has been reconfigured as a short film. While we would love to make a feature length version of this story, we know that are resources are limited but we desperately want to tell this story that we believe in.
The fifth draft was written without referring to the 4th Draft, which was a feature-length screenplay. After an initial rough draft, the final fifth draft was amended to retain certain bits of dialogue from the earlier screenplay.
We could not be happier with the story that we have in this new short film script. It really clarifies and focuses in on the core themes and messages: how do you want to be remembered, what will you leave behind, starting anew, and of course, exploring ideas about Elvis as both an icon and a man. While several of our favorite scenes and characters had to be cut for this version, we are hoping that with a high enough quality short we can secure the resources to do a feature length version!
Details will be coming out in March & April about casting calls & crew recruitment and right now we are planning for an August-September shoot. Stay tuned!
Thanks for your support!
